Hotel New Otani Osaka History
Hotel New Otani Osaka was completed in Uemachi Daichi in September of 1986. The site chosen for this hotel in Osaka was the northern most height of "Uemachi Daichi", which looked down on the city. The history of this land, known as the most historical town in Osaka, is long and involved, as people have occupied this piece of land, which stretched from south to north and was surrounded by the sea, since 7000 B.C.
In 1986, this hotel in Osaka began its existence as part of the "Osaka Business Park", which was created on the north side of Osaka Castle as an international media city opened to the world.
Our banquet hall, the largest in western Japan, is custom-equipped with the latest light and sound facilities. Various restaurants and bars and an elegant shopping area are located within the hotel proper. Our Osaka accommodations are bright, elegant, and functional. We also have indoor pools, outdoor pools, and a business center. With these full services, we have hosted many guests from all over the world.
In 1995, this hotel in Osaka was chosen as the main Hotel of the APEC Osaka Conference, which gathered worldwide attention for our hospitality and service. Throughout the years, we are constantly remodeling and upgrading our facilities to accommodate our valued guests. Thus, we have established a position as an Osaka hotel where world famous people, such as senior officials, heads of state, royal families and artists from not only Japan, but also foreign countries choose our traditional hospitality and service.
Beginning in 2008, we have been chosen to be included in the "Expedia Insider's Select", which is reserved for hotels with high customer satisfaction. In 2009, the "Michelin Guide Kyoto, Osaka 2010" has given us 4 pavilions, which translates to "Most Comfortable". In the following year, 2010, we again earned 4 pavilions in the "Michelin Guide Kyoto, Osaka, Kobe 2011".
